About Me: I'm Rooke (pronounced like the chess piece or bird), a PhD Candidate at Johns Hopkins University

I'm currently working on my dissertation, which is on the ethical and epistemological concerns of blackbox AI (primarily in a healthcare setting).

I have a general interest in epistemological and ethical concerns related to epistemic opacity. For example, if we don't or can't know how an AI model came to a certain output, how can we be justified in believing that output? (Similar questions may arise for episodic memory, though the ethical implications here differ, eg, there are implications for witness testimony).
